A New Use for Eminent Domain

Hercules, a town in the San Francisco Bay Area, is considering using eminent domain to wrest property from Wal-Mart and prevent the company from opening a store in their community.

Wal-Mart previously refused an offer from the city to purchase the land, so now the city council will consider simply taking Wal-Mart's property away.
