No War on Terror?
Britain's new prime minister, Gordon Brown, has issued an edict that Cabinet members are not to use the word "Muslim" in connection with terror attacks.
He has also decreed that the phrase "war on terror" must not be used.
Despite last week's attacks on the U.K., Mr. Brown apparently subscribes to John Edwards' theory that the war on terror is just a "bumper sticker."
As for Brown's Orwellian refusal to tell the truth regarding his nation's enemies, I'd love to hear about it the next time a bunch of Anglicans attack Britain with exploding cars.
One of the commenters at Lucianne says "Imagine Winston Churchill saying 'Don't call them Nazis.'"
I wrote in a March post that I was struck, while watching a pair of WWII short films, by how fearlessly we named our enemies in the '40s: "These movies could not and would not be made today, when too many people are afraid of giving offense. You just know that today some timid P.C. types would claim that in insulting those who would kill us, we'd be driving them to hate us even more and inciting them to greater violence."
Prime Minister Brown is certainly an excellent illustration of the above. Apparently he thinks if he shuts his eyes and ignores reality, Muslim terrorists will just go away...
Mark Steyn wishes the Brits a "Happy Indenial Day."

The problem could be based in what researchers have found to be an alarming decline in the testosterone level of Caucasian males, today far below levels of previous generations.
Closely examine photographs of American men from World World II and from the Civil War. Better yet, get ahold of a great Dover book called Dictionary Of American Portraits. You'll have something of a revelation:
Stronger jaws, steelier eyes, more determined looks, more angular facial features, an over-all more masculine cast to their bearing and appearance.
Today's guys might "work out" and have better surface muscle definition; but there's no denying a feminization in American and European males rooted in devolved DNA.
Reasons?
Some blame hormone-injected processed food; sedentary occupations; forty years of feminized enculturation; chemical alteration because of the drug culture; urban pollution. It certainly begins to explain the West's self-inflicted suicide and the "Fag Factor" of Great Britain and Scandinavia, both erstwhile cultures of fierce warriors.
It's definitely time to re-read Pat Buchanan's Death Of The West. It's depressing, but Pat is always right on the mark. In my opinion, Buchanan is the most prescient political thinker of our time.
Bag of Bones:
I thought you were joking, but it appears you are not. Well, that would explain a lot. We certainly are more wimpy than ever.
