New Book: The Best Chicken Recipes

Some of my best-loved and most-used cookbooks come from the folks at America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Illustrated. Just last weekend I made Beef Pot Pie using recipes from THE AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN FAMILY COOKBOOK; next week I'll be making Braised Beef Short Ribs, which we've already enjoyed many times, from the same cookbook.

Cook's Illustrated's THE COMPLETE BOOK OF CHICKEN is another much-used favorite. I thought maybe I wouldn't need this new book, as I already have a number of good chicken recipes, but over 100 of the recipes are all new...hmmmm.

Other favorite chicken cookbooks include THE NEW YORK TIMES CHICKEN COOKBOOK and 150 THINGS TO MAKE WITH ROAST CHICKEN.

Chicken is healthy and economical, so new ideas for preparing it are always a Good Thing.

I love to watch America's Test Kitchen on PBS. I am on the e mail list to receive updates from Cook's Illustrated and Christopher Kimball. There stuff always looks so good. I don't cook much but Jennifer does :)

I do too! ATK and CI were a major impetus in my kicking my cooking skills "up a notch" (or several!) over the last three years or so. They make it so easy to make great food on the first try!

They have excellent DVD sets of the PBS show, if they happen to be at the library. My little boy (just turned 10) learned to make a roast chicken all by himself about a year ago watching one of their shows and using the cookbook that goes along with it. :)

Best wishes,
Laura
