Coming to DVD: Colbert and MacMurray Romantic Comedy Collection (Update)

Last month I posted the news that three of Claudette Colbert and Fred MacMurray's Paramount films are coming to DVD in an exclusive release from Turner Classic Movies.

The titles are THE GILDED LILY (1935), THE BRIDE COMES HOME (1935), and FAMILY HONEYMOON (1949).

Cover art has now been posted online at TCM and is seen here to the left.

Those interested in the set should note that the release date has been pushed back from November 15th to December 2nd. This seems to be a fairly common occurrence with TCM's releases; last summer's Deanna Durbin set was likewise pushed back from its original release date. Hopefully this date will be firm so that the collection will be available for Christmas shopping!

Update: The release date's been pushed back again, and the set is now due December 10th.

December 10th Update: Here's my review of THE GILDED LILY.

January 9, 2011 Update: And here's a review of THE BRIDE COMES HOME.

January 21st Update: A review of the set's third and final film, FAMILY HONEYMOON.

You sure can't beat these casts! I'm really looking forward to seeing all three films for the first time.

Best wishes,
Laura
