Coming to DVD: Tennessee's Partner (1955)

TENNESSEE'S PARTNER (1955), a Western starring John Payne and Ronald Reagan, will arrive in a widescreen DVD on April 19th.

It's a release by VCI, which previously released a very nice fullscreen edition. I reviewed that copy of the film last summer, describing it as "a fun, colorful Western with an amiable cast and solid production values."

The movie also stars Rhonda Fleming and Coleen Gray. There's more info on the film -- including a beautiful poster -- at 50 Westerns From the 50s.

VCI happens to have another interesting release coming out on Tuesday, CANDLELIGHT IN ALGERIA (1944), starring James Mason. It's a WWII drama which is part of VCI's Best of British Classics series.
