Quick Preview of TCM in December
Time for a preview of December on Turner Classic Movies!
Christmas will be celebrated with holiday movies on Saturdays and Sundays in December, followed by a week-long marathon beginning December 19th, running through Christmas Day. Prime time on Christmas will be spent with Doris Day movies.
As has become a frequent TCM tradition, New Year's Eve will be spent with the THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT! movies followed by the THIN MAN series. This reverses the 2020 New Year's schedule which started with the THIN MAN films and then switched to THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!
There's a fun TCM Spotlight theme for December, "Met on Set," focusing on romances which began on movie sets. The series kicks off with NO MAN OF HER OWN (1932) starring Clark Gable and Carole Lombard.
"Special themes" for December are Ernst Lubitsch and "Fireside Favorites." The Lubitsch lineup is fantastic, including TCM premieres of THE OYSTER PRINCESS (1919), THE DOLL (1919), and THREE WOMEN (1924). The Fireside film schedule is not yet complete.Additional December themes include Tarzan, snow, winter, knights, widowed parents, and millionaires. Pearl Harbor Day will feature a lineup of World War II films.
Filmmakers receiving multifilm tributes in December include Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Russ Tamblyn, Rita Moreno, and Agnes Moorehead.
I'll have an in-depth look at TCM's December schedule posted here around December 1st.

Very excited about Ingrid being SOTM!!!!
As for TCM running a week long Christmas movies, I’M IN!!!!
Best wishes to you and your family this holiday season, Laura!!!
I enjoy the comfort of classic Christmas movies, whether I have the opportunity to sit and enjoy them or have the companionship of old favourites in the background.
PS: I am still peeved at TCM's disregard for their supportive bloggers and viewers regarding the schedule updates.
Thank you, Lady American! So glad I could share good news with you.
I love the Christmas movies too, Caftan Woman! And I appreciate your sympathetic support very much.
Best wishes,
Laura
