The Doris Day Centennial

The incredible, joyous ball of sunshine we all know as Doris Day was born 100 years ago today, on April 3, 1922.

I've written about my love for Doris here many times, including at the links below. For today I'll simply say, with love: Thank you, Doris, for everything.

Laura, Doris Day in every way makes for a better day. She has been a favorite entertainer of mine ever since I can remember. Long live her memory.

Doris Day is a favorite of mine, too. We celebrated by watching TEACHER’S PET. I’d never seen it before and thoroughly enjoyed it. Gable and Doris make a marvelous couple, and Gig Young’s character was a riot. Long live her memory indeed.

Walter and Seth, thank you so much for joining in to celebrate Doris Day's centennial! Truly one of the greatest entertainers of the 20th century.

Seth, I love TEACHER'S PET. The last time I saw it a few years ago I was fascinated how relevant it remains. And I laugh just remembering the way Doris staggered after Gable kissed her.

Best wishes,
Laura
