Weekend Fun at Disneyland: Eggstravaganza 2022

I enjoyed another wonderful day at Disneyland this weekend!

This time around I took part in the resort's annual Eggstravaganza. Disneyland has been hosting Easter egg hunts at the resort since at least 2013, and we always try to participate.

As seen below, the hunt is a fairly simple experience, but it's also a great way to get some exercise while enjoying the parks. I walked 5.3 miles this morning covering ground in both Downtown Disney and Disneyland!

Spoiler Alert: I'm going to share some photos of the eggs and their locations in this post. Anyone who plans to go egg hunting at the Disneyland Resort this month: Please stop reading here so that your hunt isn't spoiled!

We started off in Downtown Disney:

You purchase a playing card listing where the eggs can be found...

...which has stickers on the reverse side. Each sticker picture corresponds to the character on an egg.

Most of the eggs are fairly easy to find, "hiding in plain sight" high up on buildings or in flower beds. Here are a couple examples in Downtown Disney:

Once in a while they're hiding inside a store; this one inside the World of Disney store was a little more challenging to find! (Click on this or any other photo to enlarge it for a closer look.)

Once we completed the Downtown Disney hunt it was on to Disneyland!

Mr. Toad hiding:

Each sticker card comes with a keepsake egg which can be redeemed either at the time of purchase or upon completion of the hunt. I got Marie from THE ARISTOCATS and our daughter got Robin Hood. By now I have a nice Disney egg collection lining the top of my roll-top desk!

Of course, while we were there I took some scenic photos, including the castle:

Last month I shared photos of the scrims hiding the renovation of the Royal Theatre. The remodel and fresh paint job are now complete!

The Matterhorn:

Flowers nearby:

More lovely spring flowers, which were a nice contrast with the overcast skies today!

Pirates of the Caribbean is currently closed for rehab:

These colors in the French Market seemed very '70s!

The Mark Twain just doesn't take bad photos!

Later this week I'll be visiting Disney California Adventure to complete the final egg hunt for 2022.
