A Moving Baseball Story

Mike Coolbaugh, a coach for the Colorado Rockies' AA farm team in Tulsa, died last July after being hit by a line drive during a game.

The Colorado Rockies, who are currently in the National League playoffs, have announced that they have voted a full share of their postseason earnings to Coolbaugh's pregnant widow, Amanda. The Coolbaughs also had two little boys.

I recently read a very sad Sports Ilustrated story on Coolbaugh's family and teammates struggling to cope with his death.

I hope the Rockies' wonderful gesture comforts the family a bit at a very difficult time.

(Hat tip: The Irish Trojan. Congrats on passing the bar exam!)
