Brothers Face Off on the Pitching Mound

Last night a pair of brothers, Jeff Weaver of the Dodgers and Jered Weaver of the Angels, faced off against each other in a pitching duel.

Brothers have pitched against each other on only 20 previous occasions in baseball history. Nearly half of those games were pitched by the Niekro brothers, Joe and Phil, who pitched against each other nine times between 1967 and 1982.

In honor of the event, the Weavers' mom and dad were presented with jerseys evenly split between the Dodgers and Angels logos.

Although I root for both teams, my foremost loyalty is always with the Dodgers, so I'm happy to say the Dodgers won, 6-4.

Happy Father's Day to baseball fans everywhere!
