Of Julia Child and France
Julia Child may have made French cuisine popular with home cooks in the United States, but according to the New York Times, Child is relatively unknown in France.
Child's most famous cookbook, MASTERING THE ART OF FRENCH COOKING, has never been translated into French.
The film JULIE AND JULIA opened in France today.

That's amazing that the book was never translated into French. You'd think they'd have been curious, even if haughtily disdainful. Oh those French.

I've used this book -- it's great. Interesting that it has never been translated into French, but not surprising, for several reasons.
