Johnie's Broiler Reopens as Bob's Big Boy
The saga of Johnie's Broiler, a classic "Googie" style building in Downey, has been chronicled here previously.
The story had a happy ending Monday with the restored building reopening as a Bob's Big Boy. (Click the title of this post.) It looks wonderful. On some evenings the restaurant will even have carhop service.
I haven't eaten at a Bob's in ages and hope to visit the new location.

We eat at the Bob's that opened in Signal Hill about 2 years ago occasionally. Now that Downey has opened, we want to try them out as they aren't too far from us. Love that Big Boy Combo :)
