Verizon Wireless Ends Rap Music Promotion

Verizon's Vice President of Corporate Communications: "Verizon decided this week to end its support and sponsorship" of the rap "musician" whose disturbing songs they were advertising and selling.

The Vice President told Michelle Malkin in a phone interview that Verizon had made a "mistake." One wonders what the corporate thinking was that led to the "mistake" in the first place, but good for the company for admitting it and immediately acting to correct it.

The link at my post yesterday, which previously went to the Verizon page where customers could buy and download Akon's sexually explicit, violent songs, is now blank.

As an aside, I intentionally have not used that so-called "artist's" name, as for someone like that, any publicity is good publicity.

Consumers can make a difference.

I know that's something and yay they've made appropriate changes...but really, wouldn't it be something if the big dog threw us a little bone and added, 'Verizon made a mistake - because that's what happens when greed trumps good judgement."?
