Congratulations on your wonderful blog. I love to read your opinions and insights on classic films. May there be many more years to come!
Been reading your Blogspot for about eight years. Glad there are people keeping our great movie heritage alive still. Got a few recommendations you might like:
Skin Game (1971) starring James Garner and Louis Gossett Jr.
Straight Story (1999) starring Richard Farnsworth
The Black Stallion (1979) starring Mickey Rooney
Mission to Mars (2000) starring Tim Robbins, Gary Sinise and Don Cheadle.
I value reading your knowledgable insights into the classic film era we both love and I value the friendship with you that has come from it.
Many congrats on 15 years of doing what you do so well, Laura, and here's to the next 15!!
Check you every day! Many many congratulations. Your output rate is phenomenal ‼️
And your wide tastes in film is also amazing.
Many congratulations, and thank you for all the wonderful things you bring to our world.
Thank you more than ever, dear Laura, for the respite of your wonderful blog. Now that Downtown Disney is gradually reopening perhaps we can have that long awaited lunch together in the foreseeable future! All the best, Jane
Good going, Laura. A lot of work and it shows. I know, more to come.
Jacqueline, thank you so much! That means all the more as I so admire your own writing on classic films.
Jeff, thank you for reading and your kind words along with the recommendations. I enjoyed THE BLACK STALLION years ago but the other titles are new to me. Thank you!
Jerry, like you, I so appreciate your friendship. I'm so glad we connected thanks to this blog! I also am so grateful for how you and our other Westerns-loving pals have broadened my knowledge of and appreciation for that genre!!
Vienna, I so appreciate your faithful readership. (Loved the recent tributes at your blog to William Wellman and Janis Paige!) Thank you so much.
Caftan Woman, thank you for visiting so often. I'm always so delighted to hear from you -- I appreciate your upbeat takes and how our tastes in film so often coincide! :)
Jane, I'm grateful that this blog also led us to connect! I've had some very special experiences thanks to you. :) I really hope we will be able to meet for lunch sooner rather than later. (My wonderful husband ventured to Downtown Disney for an hour or so last week to buy me some birthday gifts at World of Disney!)
Thank you, Barrylane! Your longtime readership, insights, and personal kindnesses are greatly appreciated.
Thanks to each of you so much for helping make this a very special day!
Best wishes,
Laura
CONGRATULATIONS! It looks like I've only been following the blog for about ⅓ of its existence, having found you from your articles on ClassicFlix. Your reviews continue to be a great source for new discoveries, and I always appreciate your "Around the Blogosphere" post for interesting tidbits I'd otherwise miss. And like Jane, I too hope for another meet-up with you (and Doug) at Disneyland soon....
That's a really great achievement, Laura. Heartiest congratulations and best wishes. I look forward to many more years of reading your remarkable blog.
