A Visit to Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills: Perry Mason Edition

This post focuses on three of the stars of the beloved TV series PERRY MASON (1957-66), who coincidentally are all buried at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.

The great character actor Ray Collins, who among other things was a member of Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre, has the name of his PERRY MASON character, Lt. Tragg, on his gravestone.

On a visit to Forest Lawn last year we were surprised to realize that Collins and fellow PERRY MASON cast member William Talman, who died about three years apart, are buried steps away from one another the cemetery's Court of Liberty section. Talman, of course, played Hamilton Burger on the series.

Barbara Hale is also buried at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, in the Enduring Faith section.  As of my most recent visit she does not have a gravestone. She is buried with her husband, actor Bill Williams, born Herman Katt.

For the sake of completeness, William Hopper, who played Paul Drake, is buried at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California.

Series star Raymond Burr is interred with his family in New Westminster, British Columbia.
